Gîtes de France - Gironde
The Gîtes de France label guarantees norms of quality and comfort, respecting a national charter. Each gîte is classified 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 stars.
Each gîte is classified according to its surroundings, its level of comfort and its amenities. All the gîtes are controlled at least once every five years.
The rural gite
Whatever the gîte classification, it may have extra facilities, mentioned in the description of the accomodation.
These gites have a garden and garden furniture, one bathroom and toilet for gîtes up to 6 people, a second bathroom for gîtes for 7 people or more. they are equipped with a broiler or mini-oven, a cooker, a pressure cooker, a fridge, cleaning materials, an iron, a baby chair on request.
In addition or instead of the 1 ear equipment, these gites have a barbecue (excepted in case of a local interdiction), a wahing machine for gites for 6 persons or more, a blender, an electric coffee-maker, a TV aerial. They propose sheets, table cloth and towels on request*.
In addition or instead of the 2 ears equipments, the accomodations classified 3 ears have an independant access and a private garden, 2 wc for gites for more then 7 persons, a washing machine, a dishwasher for gites for 5 persons and more*, an oven, a colour tv*, a telephone*. They propose cleaning service on request.
In addition or instead of the 3 ears amenities, these gites are houses of character, with an high environmental quality as well as an interior decoration of quality. They have a fireplace or a wood stove (unless local interdiction), a microwave, a fridge with a freezer section, and a tumble-dryer for gites for 6 persons and more.
5 ears gites : in addition or instead of the 4 ears criteria, these houses have a private park or a landscaped garden. They propose leisure amenities (such as a tennis court, a swimming pool, a sauna or a jacuzzi), a garage or a covered shelter. Gites for 3 people or more also have a dishwasher, a tumble-dryer, a hi-fi, a video player.
Following local derogation, these amenities can sometimes be missing in some houses; in this case this will be precised in the description.
For "beds and breakfast"
Simple rooms, with a private or common shower room or bathroom and wc.
Comfortable rooms, each one with at least a private shower room or bathroom.
Very comfortable rooms, each one with a private shower room or a bathroom and wc.
Rooms with a high level of comfort, each one with a private shower room or a bathroom and wc. They are situated in houses of character, in a privileged environment. Most of the time, they offer additional amenities
